Origin Story:
USS SLATER is a World War II Destroyer Escort - battling U-Boats, protecting convoys, defending naval task forces from submarines and air attacks. Post-War, USS SLATER was transferred to the Greek Navy where she served for forty years. She returned to the United States in the late 1990s to become a museum ship, destined to preserve the history of Destroyer Escorts.
In the future, USS SLATER will be called upon once again in service to her country. She will be modified into an M.R.G. (Mechanized Robot Guardian) to defend humanity from any and all threats. She will utilize the skills she honed during WWII to protect, hunt, and attack. Using the upgrades from her modification she will use the same weapons with new intelligence to battle current new foes. Like a shepherd in the sea - this herd will never be alone.

Our mission is to bring history to a new generation by paying respect to those who have served and are serving as well as the civilians who have supported our military. By providing education about our nation’s history mixed with entertainment the Steel Shepherd Universe will guide a new generation through our historical past, tie in today’s current events, and expand the readers' minds to our potential future. We aim to make profound connections throughout the stories we create as the historical events intertwine within the creation of Steel Shepherd’s Universe! While most of Steel Shepherd’s story is set in the future, the story will have flashbacks based on documented historical events.
