WW2DEM uses the original ship’s wire antennas on the high frequency bands.

When transmitting on AM we are usually using a TCS-13 set, with an output of about 15 watts.

When operating on FM, we are using an iCom 229H feeding a vintage vertical ground plane antenna located on the ship’s yardarm.

On CW and SSB we can use either an Elecraft K2 or an iCom 765, both with 100 watts of output power.

This 1940s vintage TBL transmitter operates in conjunction with the appropriate Navy receivers. It can produce up to 200 watts in AM mode or 400 watts in CW.

Morse code or CW may be generated via straight key, electronic keyer, or by 1940s era semi-automatic Viibroplex or Lionel J-36 Navy Speed Keys.
